The Higher Education Department has issued a letter calling for information regarding identification of College Teachers for Compulsory Premature Retirement, as part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to ensure efficient, responsive administration and maintenance of academic standards.

The Government is in the process of reviewing cases of inefficient, non-performing or persistently under-performing personnel in the interest of academic quality and administrative efficiency.

• Examination of service records and performance appraisal reports
• Assessment of integrity status and overall conduct
• Identification strictly as per relevant Service Rules and Government guidelines
• Proposals must be well-reasoned and supported by records
• Principles of natural justice must be strictly followed

Submission Timeline

The consolidated information, duly signed by the competent authority, must be submitted to the Higher Education Department on or before 31.01.2026 for further examination at Government level.
