How Odisha Government Salary is Calculated

Calculating your Odisha government salary involves more than just your basic pay. Here's a complete guide to understanding every component of your monthly in-hand salary.

Salary Formula

Gross Salary = Basic Pay + DA (58%) + HRA (If applicable)
Net Salary = Gross Salary − NPS (10% of Basic+DA) − Professional Tax (If applicable) − Other Deductions (like GIS, Water tax, LIC premium, HBA Adavance deductions etc.)

Example Calculation

For a Level 9, Cell 1 employee (Basic: ₹35,400) in Bhubaneswar , not in govt quarters:

  • Basic Pay: ₹35,400
  • DA @ 58%: ₹20,532
  • HRA @ 16% : ₹6,372
  • Gross: ₹61,596
  • NPS (10% of Basic+DA): ₹6159
  • Net In-Hand: ~₹55,437/month
