Vacancy Details

Notes: (a) Reservation as per backlog vacancies from Advertisement No. 02/2024 for CHSE, Odisha.
(b) In case of non-availability of women candidates, unfilled vacancies shall be filled by male candidates of the same category.
(c) Exchange of reservation between SC and ST will not be considered.
(d) Vacancies are subject to change by the State Selection Board without notice.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years (born not later than 1st January, 2005).
• Maximum Age: 42 years (born not earlier than 1st January, 1984).
• Relaxation (5 years): SC, ST, SEBC, Women, Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution/Board.
• Basic Computer Skill with certification.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Citizenship: Citizen of India and domicile of Odisha.
• Odia Language: Must be able to speak, read and write Odia. Shall have Odia as a language subject in HSC or passed Odia test equivalent to Middle School Standard.
• Outside Odisha Qualification: Must produce proof of equivalence from recognized Odisha University/Institution and affiliation certificate.
• CGPA Conversion: Must furnish numerical equivalence of grades/grade points from the examining body.
• Marital Status: Must not have more than one spouse living (exemption as per Government rules).
• Government Servants: Must inform Head of Office and produce NOC before document verification.

Qualifying Marks

• UR Category: 40%
• SC/ST Categories: 30%

Exam Zones: Baleshwar, Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar, Jayapur, Sambalpur.
Computer Skill Test & Document Verification: Bhubaneswar.

General English (60 Marks)

• Verbs: Tenses, Modal, Active & Passive Voice, Subject-Verb Agreement, Non-finite verb forms (Infinitives & Participles).
• Sentence Structure: Connectors, Types of Sentences, Types of Phrases & Clauses, Direct & Indirect Speech, Degrees (Comparative & Superlative).
• Other Areas: Articles, Nouns, Adverbs, Adjectives, Prepositions.
• Unseen Passage: 400-450 words with comprehension questions including vocabulary.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs (40 Marks)

• Matching Historical events with dates, personalities and places.
• Geographical facts with places.
• States, Countries and Institutions with Headquarters.
• Books and authors.
• Scientific facts and discoveries with dates, persons and uses.
• Current events with places and personalities.

General Mathematics (HSC Standard) (40 Marks)

• Fractions and Decimals, Number System, HCF, LCM and Remainder.
• Squares and Square Roots, Cubes and Cube Roots.
