Key Provisions of the Notification
- Statutory Backing: Issued under Section 3 of the Census Act, 1948, read with rules 6A and 6D of the Census Rules, 1990.
- Enumeration Phase: The house-to-house population enumeration will be conducted from 25th January 2027 to 28th February 2027.
- Self-Enumeration Option: Citizens will have the option for self-enumeration from 10th January 2027 to 24th January 2027, just before the house-to-house phase begins.
- Revisional Round: A revisional round to verify and update data will be conducted from 1st March 2027 to 5th March 2027.
