Key Provisions of the Letter

  • Landmark Initiative: Government of Odisha, in a landmark welfare initiative approved by the State Cabinet, have decided to provide free education to students taking admission from KG to PG in eligible educational institutions of the State.
  • Admission Fee Waiver: Government in School & Mass Education Department have decided to waive off admission fee in all eligible Government, Fully Aided and Newly Aided Secondary Schools and Government and Aided (488 and 662 Category) Higher Secondary Schools.
  • Effective From: The fee waiver is effective from the Academic Session 2026-27.
  • Instruction to Field Functionaries: All field functionaries under the jurisdiction of Directors are directed not to collect any admission fee from any student during the time of admission.
  • SAMS Portal Changes: Necessary changes in the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal shall be effected immediately.

  • Circulation: Copies forwarded to all Regional Directors, RDHSE, District Education Officers, Principals of all Govt. and Non-Govt. Aided (488 & 662 category) Higher Secondary Schools for information and necessary action.
