Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent (any discipline).
- Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are NOT ELIGIBLE.
- Date of passing must be on or before the closing date of application (14.08.2026).
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 33 years (for UR/EWS)
- Relaxation: OBC-NCL – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PwBD – 10/13/15 years (as per category), Ex-Servicemen – service length + 3/6/8 years, Serving Railway Staff – up to 40/43/45 years, Widowed/Divorced Women – up to 35/38/40 years.
- Cumulative age relaxation not available; highest relaxation will be given.
Medical Standard
- Medical Standard: A-2
- Visual Acuity: Distant Vision 6/9, 6/9 without glasses; Near Vision Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses; Normal Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision.
- Lasik or any corrective eye surgery candidates are NOT ELIGIBLE.
- Vision certificate from Eye Specialist required at CBAT stage.
Exam Pattern – Selection Process
Selection Stages: CBT → CBAT → Document Verification → Medical Examination
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Syllabus includes Mathematics, Data Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Analogy, Coding-Decoding, etc. (refer PDF for full details).
Stage 2: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Document Verification & Medical
- Candidates equal to vacancies called for DV based on combined merit (CBT+CBAT).
- Medical fitness as per A-2 standard; failure leads to disqualification.
- Ex-Servicemen medical standards as per IRMM Volume I Para 534.
Important Instructions
- Application Mode: Online only – via official RRB websites.
- One RRB Only: Apply to only one RRB. Multiple applications to different RRBs will lead to rejection and debarment.
- Create Account: Use existing account if created for 2024/2025/2026 CENs. Details in 'Create Account' cannot be changed.
- Live Photo: Must be captured live during application (no pre-existing photo upload).
- Signature: In running handwriting (not capital/block).
- NOC: Serving employees must produce NOC at DV.
- Free Travel: SC/ST candidates can avail free Sleeper Class travel pass by uploading valid caste certificate.
- No change of exam centre permitted under any circumstances.
- Banned items: Mobile phones, watches, calculators, etc. strictly prohibited inside exam hall.
- Official Websites: rrb.indianrailways.gov.in and individual RRB websites.
PwBD & Scribe Guidelines
- Eligible PwBD categories: LD (OA, OL, SD without N/LDf, SI without N/LDf) – but no reserved vacancies; they can apply against UR/community vacancies.
- Scribe Facility: Available for Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arm affected), Cerebral Palsy, and other categories with certificate of limitation to write.
- Scribe Registration: Scribe must be registered with RRBs at rrbapply.gov.in (OTR number required).
- Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible candidates using scribe.
- Less than 40% disability: Can also avail scribe with certificate of difficulty in writing (Annexure VIII-D).
- Vision Certificate: Mandatory at CBAT stage – from Eye Specialist (Annexure VI or VI-A for ExSM).
Documents Required (at DV)
- Valid System Generated Printout of Online Application Form
- E-Call Letter for DV
- Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/Matriculation Certificate)
- Educational Qualification Certificates (Graduate Degree & Marksheets)
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) in prescribed format issued by competent authority
- Income & Asset Certificate for EWS (financial year 2025-26)
- Disability Certificate (PwBD) as per Form V/VI (valid, with UDID if applicable)
- Ex-Servicemen Documents (Discharge Certificate, Proforma A/B/C/D as applicable)
- No Objection Certificate (if serving in Govt/PSU)
- Minority Declaration Affidavit (if claiming fee concession under Minority)
- Vision Certificate (Annexure VI/VI-A) – original at CBAT
- Self-Declaration for Lasik (Annexure VI-B)
- Any other relevant certificates as mentioned in the notification
All certificates must be in prescribed formats (Annexures). Failure to produce valid documents will lead to cancellation.
