Vacancy Details

Backlog Vacancies: SC – 1 (Mech), ST – 1 (Elect), OBC – 1 (Inst), PwBD – 3 (Mech: OH, Elect: MD). Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as on 01.07.2026)

• Production (CPCL01): 3 years Diploma in Chemical / Petroleum / Petrochemical Engineering OR B.Sc with Chemistry as major subject (60% for Gen/OBC/EWS, 55% for SC).
• Mechanical (CPCL02): 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (60% for Gen/OBC/EWS, 55% for SC/PwBD).
• Electrical (CPCL03): 3 years Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering (60% for Gen/OBC/EWS, 55% for SC/PwBD).
• Instrumentation (CPCL04): 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics (60% for Gen/OBC/EWS, 55% for SC/PwBD).

Experience (Mandatory – as on 01.07.2026)

• Minimum 3 years relevant post-qualification work experience in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Fertilizer / Power Plant / large industrial establishments.
• Apprenticeship under Apprenticeship Act, 1961 shall be considered as work experience.

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

• Maximum: 30 years
• Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10/13/15 years, Ex-Servicemen – Service period + 3 years (max 50 years).
• Cumulative age relaxation not available.

Important Notes

• Candidates with B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent are NOT ELIGIBLE.
• Women candidates are not being considered for Production and shift operation posts.
• Positions are operated in one, two or three shifts.

Exam Pattern

Computer Based Test (CBT) – 120 Marks, 2 Hours

Selection Process

• Stage I: Computer Based Test (CBT) – 120 Marks
• Stage II: Shortlisting (1:3 ratio) for Skill, Proficiency & Physical Test (SPPT)
• Stage III: SPPT – Qualifying in nature
• Stage IV: Document Verification & Medical Examination
• Final Merit: Based on CBT marks (qualified in SPPT)

• Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant post-qualification experience is mandatory.
• Higher Qualification: Candidates with B.E./B.Tech/MBA/CA/LLB/MCA are NOT eligible.
• Exam Centre: CBT will be conducted only at Chennai.
• NOC: Government/PSU employees must produce NOC at document verification.
• Women: Not eligible for Production and shift operation posts.

• Ex-Servicemen Documents (Discharge Certificate, etc.)
• No Objection Certificate (if serving in Govt/PSU)
• Balance Sheet copy of employer (for Large Industrial Establishment)
