Of the 80 vacancies, 03 are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). PwBD candidates with 40% or more disability are eligible for reservation.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Essential: Degree of a recognized University or Equivalent.
- Desirable: Diploma in Company Law / Labour Laws / Public Administration.
- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for otherwise well qualified candidates.
Age Limit
- Age limit: As per UPSC rules (varies by category)
- Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years (max 56 years), Ex-Servicemen – 5 years, Central Govt Employees – 5 years, EPFO Employees – 5 years.
PwBD Eligibility
- Suitable for categories: B/LV, D/HH, OA/OL/BA/BL/OAL/CP/LC/Dw/AAV/MDy, ASD(M)/ID/SLD/MI, MD.
- Disability conditions "likely to improve" under temporary disability category are NOT ELIGIBLE for reservation.
- Conditions "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve" are eligible for reservation.
Exam Pattern
Recruitment Test (RT) – 300 Marks, 2 Hours

- Indian Culture, Heritage and Freedom Movements
- Developmental Issues and Present Trends in Indian Economy
- Governance and Constitution of India
- General Science and Basic Knowledge of Computer Applications
- Elementary Mathematics, Statistics and General Mental Ability
- Industrial Relations, Labour Codes and Social Security in India
- Principles of Accountancy, Auditing and Insurance
- Current Events of National and International Importance
Selection Process
- Stage 1: Recruitment Test (RT) – 300 Marks (75% weightage)
- Stage 2: Interview/Personality Test – 100 Marks (25% weightage)
- Final Selection: Based on combined marks of RT + Interview
- Minimum Qualifying Marks (Interview): UR/EWS – 50, OBC – 45, SC/ST/PwBD – 40
PwBD & Scribe Guidelines
- Scribe Facility: Available for Blindness, Locomotor Disability (BA), Cerebral Palsy, and other categories with certificate of physical limitation to write.
- Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible candidates.
- Own Scribe: Qualification should not exceed minimum qualification criteria (matriculate or above).
- Certificate: Must be from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.
Important Instructions
- Application Mode: Online only at upsconline.nic.in/ora/
- One-time Edit Facility: Available for URN Profile modification.
- Live Photo Capture: Required while filling Common Application Form (CAF).
- Signature: Sign three times on white paper with black ink and upload.
- No Withdrawal: Applications cannot be withdrawn after submission.
- NOC: Government servants must inform their Head of Office.
- Exam Centres: 84 centres across India – all allotment on "first-apply-first allot" basis.
- Mobile Phones: Strictly prohibited in examination hall.
- Face Authentication: Mandatory at examination venue/Interview Hall.
- Posting: All India Service liability – officers have to serve in any part of India.
