What the Amendment Means

For Milk-Derived Paneer

Products genuinely made from milk can continue to use the term "Paneer" in their nomenclature, labelling and marketing.

For Analogue Products

Products made from constituents not derived from milk (analogue products) cannot use the term "Paneer" in nomenclature, labelling or marketing.

For Existing Licensees

Businesses already licensed under the 'Analogue in Dairy Context' category must discontinue the use of the term "Paneer" and update their labelling and marketing materials accordingly.

For Consumers

Consumers will be able to make informed choices as the nomenclature and presentation of food products will accurately reflect their nature and composition.
