Selection Process

  • Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. Negative marking 1/3.
  • Shortlisting for Document Verification: Candidates equal to number of vacancies called based on CBT merit.
  • Document Verification: Original certificates verification. No additional time given.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted by Railway Administration. Must pass prescribed medical standards.
  • Final Empanelment: Based on CBT merit, DV, and Medical fitness.
  • No Interview: Selection purely on CBT merit.

PwBD & Scribe Guidelines

  • Scribe Eligibility: Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected), Cerebral Palsy. Others on production of certificate from CMO/Civil Surgeon.
  • Less than 40% Disability: Can avail scribe with certificate under Section 2(s) of RPwD Act.
  • Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible candidates.
  • Scribe Registration: Scribe must register at rrbaplly.gov.in and obtain OTR number.
  • Scribe Qualification: One step below candidate's qualification (minimum matriculate).
  • Scribe Details: Must be furnished during 27.10.2026 to 31.10.2026 window.
  • Change of Scribe: Generally not permitted; exceptional cases allowed with OTR registration proof.
