Important Dates

Application Fee

• For All Candidates (General/OBC/EWS): ₹500/- (Out of this, ₹400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT)
• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically Backward Class (EBC): ₹250/- (Refunded duly deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT)
• Payment Mode: Online only (Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, UPI). Service charges borne by candidate.
• Refund: Only candidates who attend CBT will get refund. Fee credited to Aadhaar-seeded bank account only.
• Modification Fee: ₹250/- (non-refundable) per modification occasion.

Vacancy Details (Total: 590)

RRB-wise & Railway Zone-wise detailed distribution of vacancies is given in Annexure B of the official notification. Vacancies are provisional and may increase/decrease.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as on 14.10.2026)

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027)

• Nursing Superintendent: 20–40 years
• Dialysis Technician: 20–33 years
• Health & Malaria Inspector Gr II: 18–33 years
• Audiologist & Speech Therapist: 21–30 years
• Pharmacist (Entry Grade): 20–35 years
• Radiographer X-Ray Technician: 19–33 years
• ECG Technician / Optometrist / Lab Assistant Gr. II: 18–33 years

Age Relaxation

Exam Pattern – Computer Based Test (CBT)

Questions available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages. PwBD candidates get 2-mark relaxation in qualifying marks if shortage. Shortlisting for DV: 1:1 ratio (equal to number of vacancies).

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. Negative marking 1/3.
• Shortlisting for Document Verification: Candidates equal to number of vacancies called based on CBT merit.
• Document Verification: Original certificates verification. No additional time given.
• Medical Examination: Conducted by Railway Administration. Must pass prescribed medical standards.
• Final Empanelment: Based on CBT merit, DV, and Medical fitness.
• No Interview: Selection purely on CBT merit.

Medical Standards

LASIK Surgery candidates may be eligible for B1 subject to conditions. Ex-Servicemen and PwBD medical standards as per IRMM Vol. I. Failure in medical = no empanelment.

PwBD & Scribe Guidelines

• Scribe Eligibility: Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected), Cerebral Palsy. Others on production of certificate from CMO/Civil Surgeon.
• Less than 40% Disability: Can avail scribe with certificate under Section 2(s) of RPwD Act.
• Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible candidates.
• Scribe Registration: Scribe must register at rrbaplly.gov.in and obtain OTR number.
• Scribe Qualification: One step below candidate's qualification (minimum matriculate).
• Scribe Details: Must be furnished during 27.10.2026 to 31.10.2026 window.
• Change of Scribe: Generally not permitted; exceptional cases allowed with OTR registration proof.

Documents Required

• Matriculation/SSLC Certificate (Date of Birth proof)
• 10+2 and higher qualification certificates & mark sheets
• Essential qualification certificates (Degree/Diploma/ITI)
• Registration certificates (Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council, RCI, etc.)
• Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in prescribed format
• EWS Income & Asset Certificate (issued on or after 01.04.2026)
• Disability Certificate (PwBD) – 40% or higher with UDID
• Ex-Servicemen Discharge Certificate
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from present employer (if applicable)
• Recent passport size photographs (not older than 2 months)

Important Instructions

• Application Mode: Online only at rrb.indianrailways.gov.in
• One RRB Only: Candidates can choose only one RRB. Multiple applications lead to rejection of all.
• Create an Account: Mandatory before applying. Details cannot be modified later.
• Aadhaar/DigiLocker: Recommended for authentication. Alternate ID leads to stricter scrutiny.
• Live Photo Capture: Photo captured live during application. No pre-existing photo allowed.
• Signature: Must be in running handwriting (not block letters). JPG/JPEG, 30-49 KB.
• Application Modification: Allowed from 17.10.2026 to 26.10.2026 with ₹250 modification fee.
• NOC: Government employees must produce NOC at Document Verification.
• Free Travel Pass: SC/ST candidates eligible for free sleeper class railway pass.
• Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, electronic devices, calculators not allowed in exam hall.
• No TA/DA admissible for CBT/DV/Medical Examination.
