If you have legally changed your name (e.g., after marriage, divorce, or personal choice), it is mandatory to update your name in your driving license. This ensures that your DL matches other official documents.
The online process through the Parivahan portal allows you to:

Gazette Notification – Mandatory for Name Change
When is Gazette Notification Required?
A Gazette Notification is mandatory for major name changes, such as:
- Name change after marriage (if you choose to change your surname)
- Legal name change (court order)
- Any significant alteration in the name
Minor spelling corrections may not require Gazette notification – an affidavit and valid ID proof with the correct name may suffice.

Follow these steps to change your name in your driving license online through the Parivahan portal:
Step 1: Visit the Parivahan Portal
Open your web browser and go to the official Parivahan website:
Click on Online Services
On the Parivahan homepage, click on "Online Services" from the main menu.
Select Driving License Related Services
Click on "Driving License Related Services" from the dropdown options.
Select State – Odisha
From the state selection menu, choose "Odisha".
Click on Driving License Menu
Click on the "Driving License" menu option.
Click on Services on DL
Click on "Services on DL" to proceed.
Click on "Continue"
Click on the "Continue" button to proceed to the next screen.
Enter Driving License Number & Date of Birth
Enter your Driving License Number and Date of Birth in the required fields. Click on "Get DL Details" to fetch your information.

Your DL details will be displayed on the screen. Verify that all information is correct.
Update the Address (if required)

Upload Document for ID Proof
Upload the required documents: Gazette Notification, ID proof with new name (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport), and affidavit (if applicable).
Make Payment
Go to "Make Payment" and pay the applicable fee (₹200). You can pay using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
Book Slot
