Key Provisions of the Notification

Stipend Extension: Government after careful consideration have been pleased to extend monthly stipend of ₹10,000/- and ₹15,000/- to the students pursuing professional Post-graduate (02 years) and Ph.D. (upto 03 years) programmes respectively, in Agriculture and Allied disciplines under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
Objective: The stipend is extended to encourage quality research, promote higher agricultural education and retain meritorious students in the University.
Exclusions: The financial assistance shall not be applicable to students pursuing:
– Post-graduate and Ph.D. programmes in College of Basic Sciences
– Centre for Post Graduate Studies (Self-financing)
– Students admitted through NRI quota in OUAT
No Duplication: Students already in receipt of any scholarship/financial assistance shall be given option to retain any one of the Scholarship/Financial assistance/Stipend to avoid duplication.
Cancellation: The stipend sanctioned in favour of a student is liable to be cancelled if he/she is found to have availed any scholarship by false information or discontinues his/her studies.
Renewal: The Stipend provision shall be renewed on year to year basis on receipt of satisfactory performance of the students till completion of the course programme.
Effective Date: This shall be made effective from the date of issue of this Notification (03.08.2026).
Concurrence: This has been concurred in by Finance Department vide their OSWAS File No. FIN-ES1-MISC-0073-2025.
Gazette Publication: Ordered that the notification be published in the extra ordinary issue of Odisha Gazette.
Issuing Authority: The notification has been issued by Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, by order of the Governor.

Important Points to Note

Stipend Amounts: PG students receive ₹10,000 per month; PhD students receive ₹15,000 per month.
Duration: PG students get stipend for 2 years; PhD students get stipend for up to 3 years.
Eligible Programmes: Only professional Post-graduate and Ph.D. programmes in Agriculture and Allied disciplines under OUAT are covered.
Excluded: College of Basic Sciences, Self-financing PG courses, and NRI quota students are not eligible.
No Duplication: Students already receiving other scholarships must choose only one financial assistance.
Performance-Based: Stipend is renewed yearly based on satisfactory academic performance.
Concurrence Obtained: The Finance Department has concurred with this notification.
