Introduction
- Background: Effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2005 requires continuous capacity building of Public Information Officers and other officials dealing with RTI matters.
- iGoT Karmayogi Platform: The courses/training programmes related to RTI available on the iGoT Karmayogi Platform have been identified for capacity building of PIOs/FAAs/Nodal Officers.
- Coverage: The training shall cover statutory provisions of the RTI Act, processing and disposal of RTI applications, exemptions and disclosures, transfer of applications, handling of third-party information, appeals, maintenance of records and other relevant aspects of RTI implementation.
- For Odisha Government Employees: Odisha Government employees can access these courses through the iGoT Karmayogi platform as part of their continuous professional development, just like their counterparts in Central and other State Governments.
Recommended Courses for Government Employees
- PIOs/FAAs/Nodal Officers: All Ministries/Departments are requested to apprise their PIOs/FAAs/Nodal Officers about these courses. Newly appointed/designated PIOs should complete the prescribed training at the earliest.
- All Government Employees: Other Officers of the Department may also be encouraged to undergo as many iGoT Karmayogi – RTI courses as possible for better understanding of the RTI Act.
