Background & Demands

  • Our Demands: Honour commitment – implement 5 Days Banking and resolve residual issues.
  • Earlier Strike Success: The meeting congratulated all unions and members for the magnificent unity and overwhelming response to the strike action on 11th September 2026, making it a massive and impressive success.
  • No Positive Response: The meeting regretted that despite UFBU's willingness to find an amicable solution through meaningful negotiations and definite commitments, there was no positive response from IBA or DFS, making the strike action unavoidable.
  • Decision: Since there is no response from IBA and DFS on implementing 5 Days Banking and resolving residual issues, the meeting decided to continue the agitational programme.

Working strictly as per rules and procedures; withdrawal of all extra cooperation; adherence to regular working hours; no participation in official meetings during non-office hours; exit from all official WhatsApp groups.

Important Points for the Public

  • Plan Ahead: Complete all urgent banking transactions, including cash withdrawals, cheque clearances, and fund transfers, before 25th September 2026.
  • EMI & Bill Payments: Ensure that loan EMIs, utility bills, and credit card payments are scheduled in advance to avoid penalties.
  • Salary Withdrawals: If your salary is credited around month-end, consider withdrawing in advance before the strike begins.
  • ATM Services: ATMs may run out of cash during extended closures. Withdraw sufficient cash in advance.
  • Digital Banking: UPI, NEFT, RTGS, and net banking services may also be affected during the strike.
