Servant Quarters & Garages (Independent Allotment)

Key Provisions of the O.M.

  • Revision of Licence Fee: In terms of the provisions of Rule 74 of the "Central Government General Pool Residential Accommodation Rules 2017", the Government has decided to revise the flat rates of licence fee recoverable for the residential accommodation available in General Pool and also in Departmental Pools of Ministries/Departments of the Government of India throughout the Country.
  • Exemptions: The revised rates do not apply to substandard/unclassified accommodation of Ministry of Defence, accommodation for service personnel of the Ministry of Defence, and accommodation under the control of Ministry of Railways.
  • Effective Date: The revised rates of licence fee would be effective from 1st July, 2026.
  • Implementation: All Ministries/Departments are requested to take action to recover the revised licence fee in accordance with these orders in respect of accommodation under their control all over the country.
  • Concurrence: This issues with the concurrence of Integrated Finance Wing of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs vide their note dated 07.07.2026.
  • Applicability: The revised rates apply to all General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) and Departmental Pools across the country.

Important Points to Note

  • Effective Date: The revised licence fee rates are effective from 1st July, 2026.
  • Rates Rounded: All rates have been rounded off to the nearest ₹10.
  • Servant Quarters & Garages: Independent allotment of servant quarters and garages attracts licence fee of ₹100 and ₹70 per month respectively.
  • Hostel Accommodation: Hostel room licence fees range from ₹620 to ₹1,200 per month depending on the type and kitchen availability.
  • Wide Applicability: The O.M. applies to GPRA and Departmental Pools across all Ministries/Departments of Government of India.
  • Exclusions: Ministry of Defence (service personnel and substandard accommodation) and Ministry of Railways are excluded from this revision.
  • Concurrence Obtained: The Integrated Finance Wing of MoHUA has concurred with the revision on 07.07.2026.
  • Circulation: The O.M. has been circulated to all Ministries/Departments, CPWD, NBCC, and all Regional Offices for implementation.
