Key Conditions & Highlights

  • West Asia Crisis Impact: Mandatory EV hiring introduced due to prevailing fuel and energy challenges arising out of the recent West Asia crisis and increasing fuel expenditure burden.
  • Charging Cost: Hiring charges do not include charging cost. Cost @ ₹2 per KM towards charging will be provided to the service provider. If the State bears the cost, no charging cost is payable.
  • Rate Validity: The prescribed rates are applicable for a period of two years and will be reviewed subsequently.
  • OREDA Provision: EVs can be hired through OREDA at rates fixed through tender. OREDA can provide a maximum of 300 EVs on rent.
  • Complete Ban: All vehicles to be hired for official use after 01.06.2026 shall be EVs only. No petrol/diesel vehicle hiring allowed.
  • Wide Applicability: Instructions apply to all Government and Government-supported Undertakings, Institutions, Universities, and Societies under the State Government.
  • Finance Dept OM Reference: While hiring EVs, terms & conditions of Finance Department O.M. No. 15836/F dated 27.05.2025 shall be followed.
