Key Provisions of the Notification

Renaming: In exercise of the powers conferred under the relevant provisions of law and in supersession of all previous orders to the extent they are inconsistent with this Notification, the Government, after careful consideration, is pleased to order that the existing office of "Regional Directorate of Education" under this Department in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Brahmapur shall henceforth be known as "Regional Directorate of School Education" with immediate effect.
Post Renamed: Accordingly, the post of "Regional Director of Education" in the aforesaid office are renamed as "Regional Director of School Education".
Changes Effective: The following changes shall take effect from the date of publication of this Notification:
1. This new nomenclature shall be used in all Government records, notifications, orders, rules, regulations, manuals, service records, correspondence and other official documents henceforth.
2. This re-naming shall not affect the existing powers, duties, responsibilities, jurisdiction, functions, service conditions, seniority, pay, allowances or any other terms and conditions applicable to the post.
3. All references to the "Regional Directorate of Education" in any existing law, rule, regulation, notification, order, circular, guideline or instruction shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as references to the "Regional Directorate of School Education".
Commencement: This Notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
Gazette Publication: Ordered that the Notification be published in extraordinary issue of Odisha Gazette.
Issuing Authority: The notification has been issued by the Additional Secretary to Government, School & Mass Education Department.
