- Who Can Apply: All Government employees who do not avail government accommodation are eligible to claim House Rent Allowance (HRA) by submitting the prescribed application form.
- Form Download: The official HRA application form can be downloaded from the link provided on this page. Employees can also directly type and print the form using the quick link above.
- Submission Process: The duly filled HRA form should be submitted to the office establishment section of the concerned department for verification and onward processing.
- Annual Submission: The form must be submitted in July every year as a routine procedure for continuation of HRA benefit.
- Change of Accommodation: In case of any change in accommodation status during the year, the form should be submitted immediately to update the HRA claim.
- HRA Rates: HRA is admissible as per the rates notified by the Finance Department from time to time, currently governed by the 7th Pay Commission recommendations as applicable to Odisha Government employees.
- Supporting Documents: Employees may need to submit rent receipts, rent agreement, or other documents as proof of residence depending on departmental requirements.
Important Points to Note
- 7th Pay Commission: HRA rates for Odisha Government employees are fixed as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and notified by the Finance Department.
- No Govt Quarter: HRA is payable only to employees who are not allotted government quarters or accommodation. If accommodation is provided, HRA stands discontinued.
- Arrear Claims: Any delay in submission may result in delay in HRA payment. Employees are advised to submit the form within the stipulated time to avoid inconvenience.
- Online Option: Employees can also use the type and print option to fill the HRA form digitally before printing and signing for submission.
- Departmental Verification: The establishment section verifies the details and processes the HRA claim through the HRMS or manual payroll system as applicable.
