  • PMAY-U 2.0 Urban Reform: As per the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India under PMAY – U 2.0 Scheme, Odisha state needs to carry out Urban Reforms including adoption of the Model Tenancy Act.
  • Model Tenancy Act: The draft Model Tenancy Act, notified by MoHUA, Government of India, aims to establish a balanced and transparent framework for regulating rental housing.
  • Key Objectives: Facilitating mutual agreement between landlords and tenants regarding fixation and revision of rent, promoting availability of vacant rental properties, and addressing issues relating to recovery and repossession of rented premises.
