Odisha Cabinet Clears Five Major Proposals in 29th Cabinet Meeting Chaired by CM

Odisha Cabinet Meeting

The Odisha Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, convened its 29th meeting on October 25, 2025, where five crucial proposals from four key departments were discussed and unanimously approved.

Among the key decisions, the Cabinet approved the continuation of the popular ‘Aahaar’ scheme with an increased meal cost from ₹23 to ₹27, while keeping the beneficiary contribution unchanged at ₹5. This revision aims to ensure food quality and sustainability of the program.

To boost eco-friendly urban transport, the government has cleared the procurement of 200 midi electric buses that will operate in Keonjhar, Baripada, Berhampur, Angul, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur. This initiative reflects Odisha’s commitment to clean energy and better connectivity across major towns.

In the livestock sector, the Cabinet gave its nod to the implementation of the ‘Small Animal Development’ sub-scheme under the larger ‘Prani Sampad Samrudhi Yojana’, focusing on enhancing livelihoods through goat, sheep, and rabbit farming, especially benefiting small and marginal farmers.

The aviation sector is set for a boost with the approval of an umbrella initiative named ‘B-MAAN’ (Building and Management of Aviation Assets & Network), which aims to improve aviation infrastructure, maintenance, and management across the state.

Further, the ‘Crop Diversification Program’ was approved under the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department, intended to encourage farmers to move toward high-value and climate-resilient crops, promoting sustainable agricultural growth and improved rural incomes.
