The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a major reform for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026. For the first time, the Commission will release the **Provisional Answer Key soon after the conduct of the examination** to enhance transparency and uphold the highest standards of conduct.

📘 Key Highlights & Process

  • Immediate Release: The provisional answer key will be published shortly after the exam concludes, allowing candidates to assess their performance early.
  • Online Representation Portal: Candidates can submit their representations (if any) through the dedicated “Online Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep)” available at upsconline.nic.in/login.
  • Deadline: The window to submit representations is open until May 31, 2026, 6:00 PM.
  • Requirements: Candidates must indicate the correct key as per their understanding, provide a brief description, and upload supporting documents from three authentic sources.
  • Expert Review: All representations will be reviewed by a team of subject experts. The final answer key will be published only after due consideration of these representations.

Quote from Chairman: "This initiative reflects the Commission’s ongoing endeavour to bring greater transparency, responsiveness, and time-bound communication with candidates. The policy aims to make the examination process more participative while upholding its sanctity."
