This is the official list of diseases considered valid for transfer on medical grounds in Odisha Government service. The list remains in force.
Annexure-I : Valid Diseases for Medical Ground Transfer
1. Cancer
Uncontrolled growth and spread of malignant cells (including leukaemia, lymphomas and Hodgkin’s disease). Excludes non-invasive carcinoma in-situ and most skin cancers except malignant melanoma.
2. Paralytic Stroke
Cerebro-vascular accident causing total permanent disability of two or more limbs persisting for 3 months.
3. Renal Failure
End-stage chronic irreversible failure of both kidneys requiring regular haemodialysis.
4. Coronary Artery Disease
Post open heart surgery (up to 3 years) or angioplasty (up to 1 year) on cardiologist advice.
5. Thalassaemia
Thalassaemia Major requiring regular blood transfusion at intervals of less than 3 months + chelation therapy.
6. Parkinson’s Disease
Slowly progressive degenerative disease confirmed by Neurologist with tremor, rigidity and balance disturbance.
7. Motor-Neuron Disease
Progressive degeneration of motor neurons confirmed by Neurologist with weakness, wasting and fasciculation.
8. Any other disease with >50% mental disability
Duly examined and recommended by the respective Regional Medical Board with latest records (within 3 months).
All medical terms shall have the meaning as given in Butterworth’s Medical Dictionary. The list is applicable as per the transfer guidelines of the Government of Odisha.
