Subject Holiday Date Change

Subject: Change in the date of holiday on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid).

📅 Key Changes & Details

Original Date: The holiday was initially notified for 27th May, 2026.
Revised Date: The holiday is shifted to 28th May, 2026 for Central Government administrative offices in Delhi/New Delhi.
Reason: The change is based on the sighting of the moon, which indicates the celebration will take place on May 28 in Delhi.
Outside Delhi: For Central Government offices located outside Delhi/New Delhi, the date will be decided by the Central Government Employees Coordination Committees or the Head of Offices, based on the decision of the concerned State Government.

Reference: This OM amends the holiday list circulated vide O.M. No.12/2/2023-JCA dated 3 July, 2025.
