Subject: Delegation of powers under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989

🔍 Summary of Notification

Police Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors are now empowered to arrest, investigate, and prosecute offenses under the SC/ST Act.
These powers supplement those already held by Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
Applicable to cases within Odisha’s jurisdiction.
Aims to strengthen prevention and handling of offenses against SC/ST communities.

The notification has been forwarded to relevant police stations and government departments for immediate action and implementation.
