Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification

  • Constable (Civil): Passed +2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized board.
  • Constable (Communication): +2 Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Electronics/Statistics/Computer Science/IT, or a 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
  • Constable OISF: Passed 10th Class (Matriculation).
  • Firefighter: Passed +2 (Higher Secondary).
  • Firefighting Driver: Passed +2 + valid HMV driving license for the last 1 year.
  • Driver PMT: Passed 10th Class + valid LMV/HMV driving license for the last 6 months.
  • Traffic Constable: Passed +2 (Higher Secondary).
  • Common: Must be able to speak, read and write Odia.

Age limit (as on 01.01.2026)

  • Constable (Civil): 18 to 26 years.
  • Constable (Communication) & OISF: 18 to 23 years.
  • Firefighter & Firefighting Driver: 18 to 25 years.
  • Relaxation: SC/ST/SEBC/Women – 5 years; Ex-Servicemen – as per rules; Ex-Agniveers – 3 years.

  • Physical Measurement (PM): Qualifying in nature. Minimum height, weight, and chest standards must be met.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature (Running, Long Jump, Shot Put, Swimming, etc.).
  • Driving Test: Fixed marks awarded for Constable (Civil), OISF, Driver PMT, and Firefighting Driver.
  • Medical Examination: By the Medical Board.
  • NCC Bonus Marks: 1 mark (A), 2 marks (B), 3 marks (C) added to the written exam score.

  1. RegisterVisit ousssc.odisha.gov.in, click "Register", fill the Basic Registration form, and verify your email and mobile via OTP.
  2. Login & Fill FormLog in and click "Apply" against the recruitment notification. Fill in the 5 sections: Personal Details, Other Details, Educational Qualification, Upload Documents, and Preferences.
  3. Upload Photo & SignaturePhoto: JPG, 40-100 KB. Signature: JPG, 20-50 KB. LTI: JPG, 20-50 KB. Certificates: PDF, 100-500 KB.
  4. Pay the feePay ₹500 online (if not SC/ST) and complete the final submission.
  5. Download the formDownload and print the final submitted application for future reference.
